Clinical Training and Expertise
Dr. Zottoli received her PhD in Clinical Psychology, Forensic specialization, in 2011 from the City University of New York at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She has extensive training and experience in psychological and neuropsychological assessment in both forensic and traditional clinical settings, and has specialized expertise in adolescent cognitive development and the legal capacities of adolescent offenders. Dr. Zottoli has worked on several secure psychiatric units housing severely and persistently mentally ill patients with criminal justice histories. In these settings, she has been responsible for conducting violence risk assessments and for planning and administering group and individual treatment for patients with NGRI statuses and with histories of violence, substance dependence and sexual offending. She also has extensive outpatient experience conducting neuropsychological assessment of adults, including dementia evaluations. She is currently teaching clinical forensic psychology at the undergraduate and graduate levels at Montclair State University, and maintains an active research program focused on issues related to psychology and the law.
